New home desperately wanted for our Westerly Renown.
She needs cosmetic work and the new owner should plan to replace the original Volvo engine – because lets face it – it still works now but it wont work forever. She isn’t pretty but is a great boat and I will be sad to see her go.
In 2016 we replaced:
All blakes seacocks and through hulls
Drinking water pipes.
2 gel batteries
New squab covers in the fore peak and salon. Rear cabin has no squabs and has not been touched in the project so it don’t look great, but makes a great storage room :-)
Installed a 50w solar panel and wind generator including a high spec Marlec do dar thingy that monitors the intake/output, but the generator needs a new diode thingy so isn’t wired up at the moment. (you can tell its the Mrs writing this ad!)
We sanded the whole hull, epoxy sealed it with west systems 422 barrier and repainted the hull using epifanes undercoat (3 coats) and Epifanes two part Poly-urethane Yacht Coating (3 coats), and a jolly nice job we did too. We just never got round to doing the deck and cockpit but we have all the materials on board – just no time.
There was loads more we did and have on board to finish the the project but very little time due to our jobs. We did everything to make sure she was sound and seaworthy.
I’m putting this add up because Ian Buchanan keeps telling me off every time he visits cos I haven’t done the add.
Price includes 6 months hard standing at Oban Marina.
