With only one gas bottle Murphy’s law means that the gas is likely to run out when cooking a meal without shore access typically when on a mooring or at anchor.
With room for only one bottle in the Konsort gas locker there is nowhere else to keep a spare without compromising safety or having a spare falling about in the cockpit.
I made a plug and got a local canoe maker to make a fibreglass mould from it. The extended door sits under the tiller and does not restrict the cockpit space. The gas locker is safe because any leaking butane can pass out of the cockpit drains in the same way the standard design would allow.
