The Seahawk 34 is well known for its spacious after cabin, with handbasin and hanging locker, well laid out galley, comfortable saloon and separate fore cabin. I have owned Sea Hawk (l know, original choice for the name) for 10 years now but reluctantly have to sell. She is lying at Largs Yacht Haven and a berth is available for the forthcoming season until 31 March 2027. This is a twin keel version , a feature that has been handy when requiring to anchor in shallow water or to beach to clear anything fouling the prop.
The boat has a pressurised hot and cold water system, Autoterm diesel air heater, and in addition to the usual two burners, grill and oven gas cooker, there is a shore power installation that allows the use of the installed microwave and an electric kettle when on a suitably equipped pontoon berth.
For ease of manoeuvring there is a bowthruster and raising the anchor is assisted by the S.L. electric windlass. All halyards are led to the cockpit where they are handed via 10 clutches and two winches. All sail handling is accomplished without going on deck, apart from to unzip the Stack Pack sail cover. The 135% genoa is on a roller furling system.
I have found the Raymarine 5000 Autopilot sufficiently reliable to “steer by wire” and in the odd spell of rainy weather, I can steer from the comfortable shelter of the large sprayhood.
To find my way about, I use the following bits of equipment. Nasa Clipper Wind and Log instruments above the companion way. Garmin Echomap plotter/fishfinder for where I am and depth. There is another Garmin 235 GPS at the helm for convenience and a compass as well. There is a fixed VHF DSC transceiver, also a Nasa AIS map.
The engine is a Beta 30, commissioned in 2019 with currently 382 hours.
The mainsail is a fully battened sail by Kemp, the genoa is also from Kemp and both sails have been regularly inspected and serviced by Saturn Sails. They are currently in store there and their (good) report is available.
Links to the brokers (Euroyachts, Largs) for a full description can found on Apolloduck or on Euroyachts website. Just search for Westerly Seahawk. There are only 2 available in the UK as of 12th January.
