This Westerly Griffon Mark II (“Highlander”) is an excellent cruiser offering accommodation for six across two cabins, and featuring a fin keel. She is perfect for coastal cruising, with easy handling; equipped with reliable systems for enjoyable and stress-free sailing. Powered by a reliable Yanmar 20HP inboard diesel engine.
The Griffon was designed by Ed Dubois, and is renowned for her solid build and capable performance. Highlander has been regularly sailed and well maintained, and is lying near Edinburgh. Reasonable offers considered.
ENGINE:
Yanmar 3YM20 (20HP), located under companionway. Well maintained and fully operational.
Electrical: two 12 volt domestic batteries. 12 volt engine start battery. Charging via engine alternator and battery charger. Electrical distribution panel with a voltmeter & Battery isolator switch.
CONSTRUCTION:
This Westerly Griffon II was built in 1982. White gel-coated GRP hull, superstructure and decks with grey painted non-slip surfaces. Teak toe rail and rubbing strake. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering to transom hung rudder. Self-draining aft cockpit. Overall a solid boat that is ready to be launched and sailed.
ACCOMODATION:
The accommodation is fitted out with teak joinery throughout and offers up to 6 berths in 2 cabins with approximately 6ft headroom. The forecabin is fitted with a V berth with infill and beneath berth stowage, shelves, and opening hatch to foredeck. The separate head compartment with marine toilet and pullout washbasin, with hanging locker opposite.
Going aft into the main saloon, there are two settee berths (port can convert to a double) either side of a central folding table with built in storage, and plenty of storage in a range of lockers. The galley is aft and to starboard. Opposite to port is the quarter berth with a large storage cupboard and electrical distribution panel.
