Description
Octavia is a magnificent example of a 1988 Westerly Tempest 31. She is a well built fast family cruiser yacht with good accommodation including two double aft cabins and good performance under sail or power. Octavia has an extensive inventory, including new standing rigging 2024 and recent engine 2021 (500 Hrs). See inventory for information. She has been unusually well maintained throughout her entire life and is presented in excellent order. There is a 2025 insurance survey available.

Engine
The original Volvo 2002 was replaced in 2022 with a Yanmar 21hp 3YM20.
The Volvo was a LH rotation gearbox and the new Yanmar is a RH rotation drive to make it a more standard configuration. So during the replacement the fuel pipes, filters, engine seacock, shaft seal and propeller were all changed. The engine mounts and engine bay were all refurbished, with new engine bay lights, making it a pleasure to maintain the engine.

I have owned Octavia since July 2018 and have enjoyed sailing, racing, cruising and maintaining her for 8 years. She is a beautiful boat to sail. As a 31 foot boat she is extremely spacious for her size. Having the double aft cabins is a world of difference to other boats in her class. The cockpit is safe and extremely spacious for her size.
I sailed her from the Isle of Wight to Barrow in Furness where she is still moored today, and she has been sailed many times to the IOM including Ireland and the Clyde. The Westerly Tempest is a very capable cruiser racer that would look after any new owner.
This boat will go with everything that is needed to take her wherever is needed. (Ready to go). Currently in the water, but due to be lifted out on the 26th Sept 2026 for her winter storage.
