Other equipment

As all old boats are generally a work in progress, we have addressed most of the issues she came with. Starting with a short road trip from Holyhead to Bangor in February 2022. We removed two-thirds of the saloon interior and the water tanks to access the port keel bolts, and much of the quarter cabin interior to access the starboard keel bolts. Dickies Marine Services dropped both keels and the rudder; they filled the rudder with resin because the wood inside it was completely waterlogged. The keels and rudder were epoxied and refitted. The rudder was refitted with new bushes. Water tanks cleaned out, sterilised, and replaced. New plumbing and pumps to the gally and the heads. The black water tank was removed, cleaned, and inspected, then replaced with new pumps and plumbing. The hull was triple-blasted, sealed, and copper-coated. We removed the binical and had it refurbished by Whitlock Winch and Steering servicing, Emsworth. With new bespoke bearings, we had new gears made for one of the steering boxes. All the rest of the fittings were inspected and greased. All the standing rigging, running rigging, main and genoa sails were replaced, and Furlex headsail reefing was installed. Since we left Bangor in 2024, we’ve sailed 2 seasons out of Deganwy Marina and have once again hauled out in Bangor, where she is currently on the hard. If you’re curious or want to have a look, feel free to contact us on 07474769979.
