North Wales: RWYC Lunch
18th February 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
For the sixth successive year the Group held an Informal Lunch at the impressive Royal Welsh Yacht Club. The event was well attended by twenty six of our members. Some of whom had travelled from Lancashire and Cheshire. We were warmly welcomed by three of the RWYC Committee Members., Brian Roberts, Mo Judge, and Sarah Roberts. The Club was warm and cosy despite the cold wind from the Menai Strait, and considering that it is within one of the towers forming part of the town walls of Caernarfon town. No cavity wall insulation here.
Following lunch, Chairman Chris Dibble spoke of the Group plans for 2017. These included a dinner at Holyhead Sailing Club on April 22nd, a join-us-if-you-can informal sail on 28/29 May to Isle of Man for the Classic TT, 14th June a sail to Whitehaven and July has been penciled in for a sail to the Clyde and Glasgow. A WOA North Wales Group Muster to Peel Isle of Man 4th to 7th August, followed at the end of August by an informal sail to Liverpool. Members would be notified in due course of the firmed up dates and arrangements.
We hope that we will be able to return to the RWY Club for a pre season lunch again in 2018. The attached photographs, courtesy of Mark Pearson, show the attendees enjoying the event.
