Jambo is a bilge-keel Konsort berthed at the beautiful Deganwy Marina, N Wales. The engine starts eagerly, uses no oil and has clear exhaust and with the gear-box has received its annual full service. The engine is very frugal and uses 1ltr per hour at 1500rpm giving almost 300 miles under power. There’s also 2 x 5ltrs spare fuel cans to supplement the 15 gallon/69ltr diesel tank. The alternator is 12 months old supporting 2 x batteries which are also less than 12 months old. There’s also a solar panel for keeping them fully charged when on the berth. The original 2-blade prop was replaced by a 3-blade prop 2 years ago which has greatly improved economy under power. The VHF radio is in perfect working order as is the GPS. There’s a brand new ‘lazy jack’ cover and all the standing rigging was replaced 4 years ago. The wet hull was completely restored by Firmhelm of Pwllheli 2 years ago and is in perfect condition being entirely dry – supported by a Volvo prop shaft seal fitted 2 years ago. There’s a new Contest lit compass plus a new NASA log and new separate NASA depth indicator – both fitted 2023. The Boatworld 2.8mtr inflatable is only 2 years old and rarely used – as is the 1.5hp electric outboard + 2 batteries for it. There’s a spray hood and side spray deflectors. There are 6 self-inflating life belts 2 years old as well as a life ring on the push-pit. The new cooker (2 gas rings, a grill and oven) was fitted 18 months ago, full crockery and cutlery and a 7kw hot-air diesel heater fitted 2022 located in the cockpit locker supplying ducted heated air to the f’ward cabin and saloon. A 12v ‘fridge is also installed (under the chart table when making passage and located on the chart table when moored). There is a full set of new cushions and covers (September 2023). The ‘heads’ works perfectly. The restored (Genoa) jib is furled from the cockpit and there’s also a spinnaker pole and a spare jib and mainsail.
